Look, Mom! No Hands!

We finally did it. We took the girls to Lagoon for the first time. We were nervous that it was going to be a total waste of money, we would be dealing with two crying, unhappy kids, and we would end up leaving really early. It was completely the opposite. The girls had a blast! We were there before it opened, and stayed after it closed. The girls were happy and couldn't wait to jump on the next ride. It will definitely be something we do again! Both girls loved all of the rides. I was so impressed with how many rides Jada was able to ride...some that were really scary! Brecka was just happy to be there. Her favorite ride was the Tidal Wave. She would just giggle as it would go up and down. We rode it once in the morning, and then again in the afternoon. Just as the ride started moving, Brecka threw her hands in the air and started screaming. It was so funny, because nobody had done that yet and we were hardly moving. Everyone started laughing! "Look, Mom...no hands!"
My girls and me. What a fun day!

Let Freedom SWING!

My parents and my sister's family came to visit over the 4th. We played in the yard, hiked to Bloomington Lake, had a picnic, had fun with fireworks, and just relaxed. The hike was great, the kids were troopers and even the guys had a blast. (Videos below will explain) It was a great weekend.

Jada, Grandma, Tiff, Daxton, Halle and Cory.

Getting ready to light it up....Fireworks of course!

Relaxing with good summer fun. It was so nice to have beautiful weather for the 4th.

Jada, Darci, Halle, Dad, Tiff, Brecka, Landon, Daxton, and Cory.

Yes, the guys had to show their stuff and swing from the rope into the frigid cold water. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with their stamina even though little words were spoken as they emerged trying to gasp for air. Way to go Landon, Dad, and Cory. You are all my heroes!(sorry Cory, I couldn't get that video to work!)

Memorial Day

Every year on Memorial Day we have the tradition of camping in Monticello, where Landon is from. And it seems that each trip we end up spending a lot of time in the rain or snow, but somehow still have a great time. We ride four-wheelers...
Climb on the rocks...

play in the dirt...

play in the dirt some more...

visit Monticello Lake...

and just enjoy being together!

Dogs included of course!

Thank goodness for sand!

We always go to the cemetary to visit Grandpa Day's grave. It was a chilly day, so we didn't stay long, but it was still worth the visit.

Congrats Jada!

My little Jada graduated from pre-school! She was so excited for her performance, she kept telling me I would cry tears of joy! She did a great job and Landon and I were as happy as could be! Way to go Jada! We are so proud of you! Brecka, on the other hand, was not such a good audience member. She couldn't figure out why she couldn't sit by "her Jada".
Jada is in the front row, fourth person from the left.

~Way to go little miss graduate!~

My first race!

I actually got up the motivation to start running again! Maybe because Landon started, and I couldn't let him beat me!! (Ok, he always beats me, but at least I had to try.) I started out with the 5K this past weekend for Smithfield Health Days. Landon ran the 10K. Way to go! It was a lot of fun, however, it was FREEZING!! I don't enjoy running in the cold and it definitely took about 1.5 miles to get warmed up. Overall, I had a blast and I can't wait until the next race. My long-term goal I am setting is the half marathon in August. We'll see if I make it!!

Easter Sunday

We tried to get some nice Easter pictures and then we remembered we have kids...and it doesn't help when the photographer doesn't tell me that I am covering up Jada... :) oh well, we'll try again another day.Look at the camera, Jada! Brecka...smile normal!

Look at the camera, Brecka! Jada...smile normal!

Hopefully next time they will turn out better. And maybe Landon will be included :)

More Easter Egg Hunts!!

We went to a fun Easter egg hunt at Mack Park. I couldn't believe how many people were there! Even though there were lots of little candy finders, there was still TONS of candy. I think Brecka has a new treat in her mouth in every picture...the little sneak!

It was fun, but boy was it exhausting! We wore Brecka right out!
