Chore time!

I finally realized it is time for a chore chart at my house. I am tired of cleaning up toy after toy all by myself when "I didn't even play with them". Or, better yet, walking and tripping over them time and time again. I found this cute idea from Sugardoodle. How fun would it be to create a chore/ job chart and have the kids work for an allowance and earn their own special money?? You could decide the value of it, or as they get older, use it to teach the value of real money. I am trying to make a chore chartusing a magnetic board. Does anybody know of where I could find pictures of chores to use for magnets? Since my girls are not reading yet, I would like to use pictures they could recognize. This is the siteto find personalized money: http://www.festisite.com/money/

Hey Darci-I am totally revealing myself as a blog stalker right now! I had the same problem last year-I was trying to find clipart to make a chore chart-I found some by going to google image and typing in different things, but I couldn't find everything that I wanted. So what I ended up doing was taking pictures of the kids doing different chores (dumping their garbage can, picking up toys, unloading the dishwasher, etc...)They totally loved all the posing and I could pick jobs that I knew each kid could do. I cropped and laminated the pictures for durability. The kids loved them and they still work after almost a year. I don't use them everyday, just the days that they won't help! (which is quite often!) Sorry for the novel :)

How cute is that?? I love the personalized money...and my kids would totally eat that up! We have been the rounds with chore charts too...my kids earn love bugs for doing thier chores and if I catch them doing nice things for eachother etc. then at the end of the week they can redeem their love bugs for a special treat from "the mommy store" (a rubbermade bin that I keep stocked up.) We have kind of lost our routine over the summer so I can't wait for school to start so we can get it back up and running again. But I am in need of a good chore chart, so let me know how yours turns out! Good luck!

What? They have a website for that?! I wish I'd not that a while back. I made money for an enrichment service auction. I did it the old fashion way (scissors, glue and a scanner).
