My first race!

I actually got up the motivation to start running again! Maybe because Landon started, and I couldn't let him beat me!! (Ok, he always beats me, but at least I had to try.) I started out with the 5K this past weekend for Smithfield Health Days. Landon ran the 10K. Way to go! It was a lot of fun, however, it was FREEZING!! I don't enjoy running in the cold and it definitely took about 1.5 miles to get warmed up. Overall, I had a blast and I can't wait until the next race. My long-term goal I am setting is the half marathon in August. We'll see if I make it!!

Easter Sunday

We tried to get some nice Easter pictures and then we remembered we have kids...and it doesn't help when the photographer doesn't tell me that I am covering up Jada... :) oh well, we'll try again another day.Look at the camera, Jada! Brecka...smile normal!

Hopefully next time they will turn out better. And maybe Landon will be included :)

More Easter Egg Hunts!!

We went to a fun Easter egg hunt at Mack Park. I couldn't believe how many people were there! Even though there were lots of little candy finders, there was still TONS of candy. I think Brecka has a new treat in her mouth in every picture...the little sneak!

It was fun, but boy was it exhausting! We wore Brecka right out!

Baby Animal Days

We took the girls to Baby Animal Days at the Heritage Farm this past weekend. The girls had a great time, however, were quite scared of most of the animals. We only have a few pictures of them actually petting some of them. The sWiNgS, however, are definitely a favorite!! I was really enjoying myself....I just look super grumpy!
How in the world did we get roped in to paying 1 dollar each for a ride?? Isn't that a lawn mower?? I'll give them a ride this summer once a week when I am mowing my lawn!! Ok, ok, I know I am a total cheap skate when it comes to things like this. Enjoy it girls...because it probably won't happen again for a while!

Jada and Brecka were totally happy to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap this year. Last year they were scared to death. We are improving! Except as soon as we were walking away Jada said, "Mom, I know he is just in a costume, that is not the real Easter Bunny." I was completely shocked of her knowledge! This is going to be harder than I thought! (I guess I am still safe since she said "the real Easter bunny").

Cute baby goats.

...To be tiny, flexible, and the ability to fall asleep anywhere!

After we played outside for a little while, nothing too extreme, we came inside to have a snack. I was washing the dishes while Brecka was eating crackers and cheese at the table. She bent down under the table to pick up something she dropped...or so I thought. I looked over about 30 seconds after she bent over and she was tuckered out!! How does anyone fall asleep like this?? If you notice, her head shoulders are clear under the table. What I would give to be this flexible.

If any of you know Brecka, you know that she is the most stubborn child to get to sleep. Landon and I fight her night after night for her to go to bed BEFORE the a.m. hours. She has been this way since 2 weeks old. Evidently I need to curl her up in a ball, put her on a chair, and shove it under the table! Oh my sweet little girl! LOL!!!

Hoppin' down the bunny trail!

Our family traveled to Blackfoot, ID for a little R & R over conference weekend. My parents had a fun easter egg hunt for the kids while we were there. Daxton, Jada, Halle, and Brecka all had a great time searching for goodies and treats all around the yard. There was even a special hunt for all the grown-up kids. Oh yes, we were climbing trees, jumping on and off rocks, and knocking into each other trying to find the eggs the fastest. Thanks Mom and Dad, we had a great time once again acting like kids again!

Happy Birthday Jada!

Today is Jada's 4th birthday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. She is such a sweet girl with so much personality. She loves to be outside running, playing, and getting dirty, and yet also loves to play dress up and put on jewlery! She absolutely adores her sister Brecka. I am so thankful for such a big helper and am also grateful for one who keeps me on my toes! It seems like yesterday that we were driving to the hospital at midnight in the middle of a snow storm. I'm so glad that you joined our family. I love you Jades! Happy Birthday!

Brecka and Jada. Best friends and always together.

EVERYTIME Brecka puts sunglasses on, they are upside down! Isn't a 50/50 chance that she would get it right once??

The beautiful flower arrangment my Mom designed to go in Jada's pink/red/brown room. I love it Mom! So does Jada! :0) Thanks Mom and Dad for coming and making Jada feel so special. I was so sad that I didn't get any pictures of you with Jada. Next time!

My wonderful Grandparents came to celebrate Jada's birthday with us. It was so fun to have them travel from Idaho to be here for Jada. They gave her the most amazing detailed paper doll house book. It opens up into this doll house that has details on the ceiling all the way to the floor. The girls both loved it! Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma always somehow know what these kids love. They also brought jello cups that the girls have had at every meal since. They are a new favorite! Thanks again, Grandpa and Grandma, for making the trip!

...cake and ice cream...

We had a special McDonalds lunch. (Woohoo -no cooking for me!)

My attempt at making a "lipstick cake"

Jada really doesn't care what it looks like as long as it's sugar!

Jada's friend party. The girls made picture frames and then we took their pictures and printed them so they could show their families how gorgeous they looked all dressed up. We had a glamour girl party with glitter, lipstick, sunglasses, and sparkles!

Don't they all look fabulous??

We put some dazzling red lipstick on and had the girls make kissy faces. I think we need to worry about how good some of them know how to pucker up! You can't beat little Kate in the front row with the gray stripes. SMOOOCH!

The girls had a blast. Oh how fun to be a little girl! Thanks everyone for making Jada's birthday the best!
